The district

Lorenzo with the Medici Chapels, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the first Medici residence, the Accademia Gallery with the original of Michelangelo's David, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the whole monumental complex with the Baptistery, Giotto's Bell Tower, Brunelleschi's Dome, the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, the Boboli Gardens.

Move in the area

We are connected by all means of transport: trains, buses, metro, but if you want to get to know Florence and enjoy it in the best way, you have to walk. Here is an itinerary that we recommend: to do on foot of course! Crossing the Ponte Vespucci you will be in the district of S. Spirito and S. Frediano where you will find the Church of Carmine with its adjoining Brancacci Chapel where you can admire the paintings of Masaccio. The district of S. Spirito and S. Frediano are mentioned in the tales of Pratolini and Marco Vichi. Here you can stop by Sabatino or the Vecchia Bettola to taste our specialties: crostini, ribollita, tripe, the steak. Continuing our tour you will arrive in Palazzo Pitti with the Palatine Gallery and the Boboli Gardens. From here, continuing the walk, you will arrive at the Ponte Vecchio, the bridge of jewelers and if you look up you will see the Vasari Corridor, the first aerial construction of the story commissioned to Vasari by Cosimo I of the Medici. Continuing we will arrive in Piazza della Signoria with the Uffizi Gallery and the Loggia dei Lanzi with Cellini's Perseus and the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna. Behind Piazza della Signoria, near Dante's house, you will find one of the oldest tripe shops in Florence to taste our lampredotto sandwich accompanied by a good glass of Chianti. Thus, you will arrive in Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Here you will lose yourself among the reliefs and the annotations that characterize it and that make it unique in the world. By continuing to walk you will be in San Lorenzo. You can't help but visit the first Medici residence: Palazzo Medici Riccardi with the fresco of the Corteo dei Magi by Benozzo Gozzoli, the Medicce Chapels and the Church of S. Lorenzo di Michelangelo. From here, crossing the square, you will be at home. Did you enjoy this tour? We will organize others, Florence is an open-air museum.
